Reported Crop Circles for the State
of Wisconsin -
Verona, Dane County (October 3, 1999)
61' diameter circle with a 101' diameter ring swirled counterclockwise with slightly curved 'spokes' flowing away from the ring. Located just outside Madison, WI on Highway 151 and Highway 69. Probably formed several weeks prior to discovery based on the plant reorientation.
This formation was also located very close to Indian Mound Trail and Nine Mound Road and the National Ice Age Trail, all named for obvious reasons. The town of Verona was established on the site of an Indian Mound complex. In 2005, the town of Verona engaged in an effort to protect one of the Indian mounds located close to this site along Hwy. 69.
